Dial-A-Neighbor (Census Equity) Campaign

The Dial-a-Neighbor campaign was an initiative to get a complete count for the 2020 Census. Wyandotte County neighborhoods are what are known as hard-to-count census tracts, meaning that the area receives a relatively low response rate to the Census.

Staff and volunteers encouraged residents in hard-to-count census tracts to pledge to take the census to make sure Wyandotte County receives its proper allocation of funding for the next ten years. Due to the pandemic, staff and volunteers also conducted telephone wellness checks, sharing with residents information for reporting symptoms and staying safe as well as providing resources.
